What Is a Back Seal Bag?
A back seal bag (also called a pillow bag or fin seal bag) has the heat seal running down the back of the bag rather than along the sides. This gives a clean, uninterrupted front face — ideal for retail display — and suits automated filling lines used in confectionery and snack production. The sealed base and back seam create a strong, secure package that holds its shape better than a standard flat bag.
If you’re packaging heavier or bulkier products, or running an automated packing line, back seal bags are typically the right choice over sideweld cello bags.
Why 12PET/40PE?
Our back seal bags are made from a two-layer laminate:

12 micron PET (polyester) outer layer — provides strength, rigidity and a premium print surface

40 micron PE (polyethylene) inner layer — the food-contact surface, heat-sealable and food safe
At 50 micron total (200 gauge), these bags are significantly heavier duty than a standard 30 micron polypropylene cello bag — better for heavier products, improved moisture and oxygen barrier, and better suited to high-speed heat sealing.
