Palm oil is an oil derived from the fruit of the oil palms, it is solid but soft at room temperature, similar to the consistency of a body butter. It is a creamy white colour and has a neutral scent.
Palm oil is primarily used in the making of soap, lotions, body butters, moisturisers, creams and edible food products such as ice-creams, confectionery etc.
Our palm oil is packaged in a clear plastic tub. Palm oil is perfectly happy at room temperature, and melts at 35C. It is best kept out of the direct sunlight and sealed.
Properties of Palm Oil
Palm oil has a very balanced fatty acid composition, with approximately equal amounts of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The two main fatty acids are palmitic acid (45%) and oleic acid (40%)
