The Loynds Mini Humbug / Berlingot Candy Machine is a compact, easy-to-operate forming machine for producing traditional tetrahedron-shaped candies. Available in hand-driven (HB01) and motor-driven (HB02) models, it is ideal for artisan confectioners, recipe development kitchens, and small to medium volume production operations.
Key Benefits
- Produces authentic humbug and berlingot tetrahedron shapes consistently
- Choice of hand-driven (HB01) or motor-driven (HB02) to suit your output needs
- Compact tabletop design — minimal floor space required
- 4 bevelled cutting gears cut in alternate directions for the trademark shape
- Quick-release thumb screws for fast, tool-free cleaning
- UK-designed and assembled from quality-vetted components
- Additional roller sets available for pillow and bar shapes
How It Works
A rope of prepared candy is fed into the in-feed section of the machine. Four bevelled cutting gears rotate simultaneously, pulling the rope through and cutting it in alternate directions — producing the humbug's distinctive tetrahedron shape. The output is a chain of formed candies which, once cooled, breaks apart into individual pieces. The machine clamps securely to a work surface via a simple clamping device (requires drilling into table).
For the motor-driven HB02, the process is identical but fully automatic — simply feed the rope and let the machine run continuously without manual operation.
Models Overview
-
HB01 – Hand Driven: Ideal for artisan production, demonstrations, and smaller runs. Operator turns a handle to drive the cutting gears.
-
HB02 – Motor Driven: Designed for continuous production. Motor drives the mechanism automatically for higher output with minimal operator effort.
